Author's Note: Over on facebook, I've been posting a video a day. I figured I'd start porting those over here! I'll post the last 6 and backdate the entries: from now on they'll be cross-posted with a bit of extra commentary over here.


This song has become one of my all time favorites. The Swedish band Garmarna released their album "Vedergällningen" (Vengeance) in 1999, which is full of modern arrangements of ancient Norse folksongs about revenge.
Yeah, it kinda has "Liz-bait" written all over it.
This is probably the best known single off that
album: it's certainly one of the most powerful. In addition to the quality of the music, I love their performance style. This is true to how they perform it live, apparently: the musicians thrash around the singer, while she stands perfectly still. It's profoundly powerful.

Yes, I just used the adjective "powerful" twice in that paragraph. I dare you to do differently after watching it. ;)
